Salim Segaf Aljufri, Chairman of the Majelis Syuro of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), has expressed his confidence in President-elect Prabowo Subianto’s ability to lead Indonesia to become a regional leader in ASEAN. Salim shared this belief during a visit to Prabowo’s residence at Jalan Kertanegara No. 4, South Jakarta, on Friday afternoon (October 11).
He emphasized the importance of unity among all national components, especially in addressing global conflicts that could impact Indonesia. Salim pointed out the current global uncertainties and conflicts, such as those in Russia, Ukraine, and the Zionist aggression against Palestinians, as reasons for the nation to come together and strategize on how to face such challenges.
Highlighting Indonesia’s potential as a major nation with abundant natural resources and a large population, Salim asserted that Indonesia should aspire to lead the ASEAN region. He expressed his belief that Prabowo Subianto has the capacity to be the leader in achieving this goal.
Salim also underscored the connection between Indonesia’s leadership role and the importance of supporting Palestine’s right to independence, citing the historical support of Indonesia for Palestinian independence. He emphasized the reciprocal relationship and the significance of not forgetting Palestine once Indonesia achieves regional leadership status.
To solidify the strong relationship between Prabowo and PKS, Salim shared a special traditional Indonesian poem called “pantun.” This poetic gesture symbolized the deep bond between Prabowo and the party.
In conclusion, Salim recited another “pantun” to emphasize the enduring cooperation and partnership between PKS and Prabowo in advancing towards a stronger Indonesia.
