President Prabowo Subianto visited the Sentosa Funeral Home at RSPAD Gatot Subroto in Jakarta to pay his final respects to the late Kwik Kian Gie, a renowned economist and respected national statesman. Upon his arrival, President Prabowo was warmly received by the relatives and family of the late Kwik Kian Gie before paying tribute at the chamber where the deceased was laid in repose. Kwik Kian Gie, who passed away at the age of 90 on July 28, 2025, was known for his advocacy of Pancasila-based economics. President Prabowo expressed his deep condolences and admiration for Kwik’s significant contributions to the nation, describing him not only as an economist but also as a friend and mentor who provided valuable insights into the country’s development. Reflecting on their personal relationship, President Prabowo emphasized the close bond he shared with Kwik and the continuous guidance and wisdom he received from him over the years. Despite his passing, Kwik remained actively engaged, sending messages and recommendations to the President until his final days. President Prabowo expressed his gratitude for Kwik’s wisdom and dedication to Indonesia, stating that the nation had lost one of its finest sons.
