President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto welcomed General Bryan Patrick Fenton, Commander of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), for a friendly meeting at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The discussions between the two leaders centered on the mutual commitment to enhancing defense cooperation between Indonesia and the United States.
The atmosphere of the meeting was cordial, with President Prabowo greeting General Fenton with a military salute and sharing pleasantries. General Fenton, in turn, commended Prabowo for his outstanding leadership and dedication to strengthening defense relations, especially in special operations.
During the meeting, General Fenton presented President Prabowo with the USSOCOM Honor Medal as a symbol of recognition for his visionary leadership. The medal was bestowed in appreciation of President Subianto’s efforts in fostering bilateral defense ties and international collaboration, particularly in areas of counterterrorism, strategic cooperation, and regional security.
Amidst the discussions and exchange of gestures, General Fenton placed the USSOCOM Honor Medal around President Prabowo’s neck and presented a ceremonial gift. The lighthearted moment concluded with a jest from General Fenton, highlighting the camaraderie between the two leaders.
Accompanying President Prabowo during the meeting were key officials including Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
