President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, embarked on a journey to Bandung, West Java, via the Whoosh high-speed train on Wednesday evening. Accompanied by members of the public, he departed from Halim Station in Jakarta and arrived at the destination around 7:45 p.m. local time. Sporting a cream-colored outfit with a matching jacket and navy blue cap, Prabowo stood out among passengers as he scanned his boarding card and made his way to the platform.
The sight of the President sparked excitement among commuters, who eagerly waved and greeted him as he passed by. Before boarding the train, Prabowo graciously posed for photos with the Whoosh crew, creating a memorable moment for all involved. Promptly at 8:00 p.m., the high-speed train set off for Tegalluar Station in Bandung.
Prabowo’s visit to Bandung is in conjunction with the opening of the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at Sasana Budaya Ganesa (Sabuga), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) from August 7 to 9. As a keynote speaker at the convention, he will share the stage with Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto.
Themed “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” KSTI 2025 aims to be a significant platform for strategic discussions at both the national and international levels. It is set to bring together experts and stakeholders to explore the nexus between economic development, technological advancement, and social equity.
